What do you mean by arthropods   Arthropod came from a greek word arthron which means jointed and pous which means foot. Arthropods are invertebrate animals which have a characteristic jointed legs. They also usually have a protective covering on their body called exoskeleton which is usually made up of chitin , a special kind of carbohydrate which share the same characteristics to cellulose.
